The Council for Social Accountability has organised a painting and quiz competition at the Boat Club on World Earth Day. Students from different schools participated. The world is facing natural calamities very frequently. This is causing enormous loss of property and life to humans.
The students imagination were expressed through their colourful paintings. They painted the picture of the nature as they thought fit. They painted about the environment and the condition of nature today. The Bhopal Today Team met some students who participated in the competition to know what the children thought about the nature.
Mariyam, student said that the environment around has changed. The environment is polluted to the extent that even children are becoming victims of diseases so far found among the adults. Moreover, our lifetime has reduced also. Unless we save the earth without wasting more time, everything will be out of control, she said.
Mohammed Umar said the temperature on earth is going up every year. On the other hand our area of forests is reducing. Because of this the coming generation will suffer more. 'If we want to save future generation, we will have to try hard now. We are responsible for the imbalance of the nature and we will have to find a solution for the problems', he said
Farhan Khan, Treasurer, Council for Social Accountability opined that to save the nature awareness among the people should be brought about. The best medium for this is the children. Through children we can spread awareness among the society. We are trying to bring awareness among the children through the quiz competition, he said.
Shivam is interested in painting particularly when the subject is nature. He thinks that the change in environment is a matter of serious concern. I will try to save more water and electricity and spread the message among others.
Akash Shrivas has taken part in the quiz competition. ' If we save our nature, the nature will save us', he said.
