Winning people's trust: New DGP's commitment

The new Director General of MP Police, SK Raut is known as an alert officer. His pledge to improve the law and order situation in the state is commendable. More so, his commitment to provide justice to the women, children, elderly persons, disabled and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe community without delay, is commendable. He has announced to take cooperation of Women and Child Welfare department. Help would be taken from NGOs to check juvenile crime. Raut is also concerned about work tension among constables and head constables. He believes that its adverse effects would fall on their children and they would become victims of diversion and involve themselves in criminal activities. So special attention would be paid on the education of the children of police personnel. His thinking is commendable and positive. But, he says that information machinery is not weak and several big matters have come to light. There are several such matters in which police could not know for years because information system had been inactive in these matters. While the work of keeping vigil is of police itself. Petty crimes and security of common people is the biggest question. Specially, reforming the image of police is a great challenge. If the information machinery is strong then the police can improve its image. Raut has a great challenge of completing assembly elections and to win the trust of the public. He has also challenges of traffic and security. The public has lot of hopes from the new DGP. Raut is having an image of dedicated and honest police officer and would not fail the people.
