Education enlightens a citizen

Education should be available to all children of school going age and it should be the first concern of a democratic Govt. since it is the education which enlightens a citizen to assert his rights and duties under the Constitution. And this education should be available at a reasonable price rather than exorbitant price as is the practice with many of the private schools who charge very high fees not in commensurate with the standard of education and facilities offered by them. It is very essential that the Govt. should intervene in the matter and do something to save the parents and guardians from squeezing done by the private schools in the form of tuition fees and other appurtenant charges. The Govt. should set up cell/cells to monitor the fee structure of these private schools as early as possible.

Better still the Govt. should set up a committee to study the fees charged by various private schools and evolve a uniform structure of fees to be charged by them. Such fees,of course, should be reasonable well within the paying capacity of an average citizen and in keeping with the standard of education and facilities provided. The proposed committee should also lay down the academic qualifications and other essential attainments expected of the teaching staff for different classes of the school.

Dr. Balak Ram Kashyap, Raghaugarh,Guna.
