Children and comics are inseparable

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, May 19: For children comics is the best entertainer. Keep the child in front of the TV and start the cartoon channel. The child will be engrossed in the comic characters for hours. Earlier big children's hobby was to read comic books. This craze dimmed a bit during the last few years when computer and video games were their favourites. But it seems as if the craze for comics has come back. Chacha Choudhary, Nagarjun, Babu, Pinki, Dada Dadi ki Kahaniyan, Panch Tantra, Champak, Bankelal, Jo Jo, Inspector Eagle are some of the favourite comics of the children now. Earlier, the Indrajal Comics was in great demand. It had Phantom, Mandrake and other foreign characters. But now the children are interested in the Indian comic characters who speak Hindi. Bhopal Today Team talked to some children to know more about the changing trend.

Palak Ashapuri who studies in Class VIII likes to read story books like Baal Hans, Champak. Comics have also changed along with the time. But she is more interested in her story books.

Divya Pal, student of Class VIII remembers that she used to collect comic books few years ago on rent of 50 paise per book per day. Now that system is no more available. It is very difficult to get a comic book these days. Still, somehow she manages to get them from the bookstall and read them.
