Every girl dreams of becoming Miss World or at least Miss India. But the dream becomes true to one or two in a year. To reach the top very hard work, self control, courage and cooperation of those who matter most are needed. That is what the Femina Miss India 2008 Parvati Omanakuttan said. The beauty girl was in Bhopal in connection with some private programme. Here are the excerpts of the interview with her.
Q. How much do you like Bhopal?
A. I had heard a lot about Bhopal. During the Miss India contest I had heard more about the city. When I reached Bhopal, the air here is purer, I liked the environment. This is my first visit to Bhopal and I liked the city very much.
Q. What was your experience as Miss India?
A. It was good. I had won from the South. In South, we are getting proper training to contest the Miss India. During the training all girls get good chance to develop personality. We have been trained to keep manners during the contest. Moreover, psychologists are made available to overcome mental tension.
Q. What preparations you have done for the Miss World Contest?
A. Miss World Contest will be held at Ukrain in October this year. I will reach Ukrain in September. There we will get training of international standard.
Q. Do you plan to enter film world?
A. Not right now. I think one should do only one thing at a time. At present, the most important thing in my mind is the Miss World Contest. After the contest, if I am offered a good role, I will think of it.
Q. You are the first Malayali girl to be come Miss India. Your comment?
A. No, that is not true. Several beauties from the South are in the film and fashion industries. The South Indians are educated and they are well aware of their profession.
Q. Do you think your figure is suitable for modelling?
A. Yes. There is nothing wrong with my figure. I eat whatever I like and I know how to control myself. I think proper exercise and eating regularly at a particular time will help maintain your health and figure.
Q. To whom you dedicate your success?
A. Firstly to my parents. Then the credit goes to my relatives and friends. All of them have encouraged me during evewry step of the contest.
Q. What is your message to the youth?
A. Western culture has been spreading in our society very fast. The youth are aping them. On the other hand the Westerners are adopting our culture. We should adopt only the best thing from the Western culture. At the same time we should not forget our own culture. We should respect our culture.
