New tech, smart materials to bring reform in construction

Bhopal, May 19: In view of the present requirement of the development of the country and Madhya Pradesh in particular, and the status of the public at large, the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (I), headquartered at Bangalore, will be opening its centre at Indore on June 7.

Addressing the press, Convenor of the Association Azad Jain said that along with the inauguration of the Centre in the state a national seminar on `A 360( View of Civil Engineering'' would be organised at Indore on the day in which several renowned engineers and architects will present their papers and discuss various new technologies, materials and aspects of civil engineering. Besides public at large, the seminar would be beneficial for government and non-government civil engineers, architects, consultants and infrastructure builders and developers of the state, he added.

According to Jain the seminar would be divided into three sessions. In the first session discussions will be held on project management, wherein deliberations would be held on road project management and building project management. The technique of project management will save lot of time and complete the project in the estimated cost. Implementing the projects by new techniques reduces the suffering of general public, he added.

In the second session, new and innovative techniques of constructing underground water supply lines, sewer lines and telephone lines, electric power supply lines, without dismantling the road and disturbing the traffic will be discussed, Jain said.

He said that in the third session smart materials, which would improve parking management, reduce electricity bills and increase the safety of public, would be discussed.
