Bhopal, May 19:
Slamming Madhya Pradesh government's monthly pension scheme to Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) victims, the state CPI(M) unit said that the party would not take any benefit from this scheme.
In a statement released here today, CPI(M) State Secretary Badal Saroj said that CPI(M) would not sell their sacrifice done during Emergency by taking the facilities of the scheme.
''That was a fight to restore democracy and hence that was a political struggle and political parties and workers never did any struggle in return of any remuneration,'' he said.
Alleging that the state government had opened the government treasure, he said that BJP-led state government had introduced this scheme to distribute alms to those who had tendered apology to the then prime minister Indira Gandhi.
''Even CPI(M) did not receive the freedom fighter pension,'' he added. The state government had declared to provide the pension of Rs 6,000 per month to the MISA victims. Those who were convicted for three or six months would also be entitled to take the benefit of this scheme.
