Panchayats to be strengthened

Bhopal, May 17: A system titled 'Kasawat' has been started with a view to strengthening Gram Panchayats and ensuring that the field staff of government departments remains present in villages to redress villagers' problems and conveying schemes' benefits to the beneficiaries. For this purpose written directives have been issued to all the district and sub-divisional officers and Janpad and development block level officials and responsibility has been fixed for ensuring implementation of the directives.

For implementing directives issued by the collector, now RAE of Agriculture Department, ADO/PCO (Panchayat co-ordinator) of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, ANMS/MPW of Health Department, RAHO of Horticulture and other concerning officers would have sign on the attendance register of that Upapanchayat of the Panchayat where their headquarter has been fixed. If there exists office of the concerned officer at the headquarters and it is run regularly, then such an officer would sign on the attendance register of that office, otherwise they would have to sign on the attendance register at Panchayat office.

Whenever, these officers would go on tour in their respective areas, they would have to sign on the attendance register of concerning Gram Panchayat and where Gram Panchayat does not exist they would sign on the village register with entry of the day of the visit. When officers go on tour of other areas, then they would have to enter the name of the place of the area where they are going in the register kept at the headquarters.

Similarly, all the teachers would sign on the register kept in their school only. Janshikshak's name would be entered in the attendance of the middle school where their headquarter has been fixed but they would have sign on the register of that school where they would pay a visit with remark and date. Every Panchayat would have a register and whoever visits the Panchayat on a particular day would have to sign on that register.
