Bhopal, May 15:
India is prospering and has emerged as a developing nation. And in the present context, any foreign business partnership and collaboration will further strengthen Indian economy, said MN Chaini, president Indian Merchants' Chamber, Mumbai.
India has emerged as super power in the field of business and industry. As such, investment at international level would further boost the economy of the country, said Mr Prafulla Maheshwari, Joint President of Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FMPCCI), at the `India Calling-2008' seminar, jointly organised by the Federation and Indian Merchants' Chamber, Mumbai, here on Wednesday night.
At the seminar views were expressed how to further develop trade relations with other nations. Early in the seminar, Vipin Jain of Madhya Pradesh Laghu Udyog and Vipin Jain Industries Association welcomed Chaini by presenting a bouquet.
In his inaugural speech, Chaini shed light on India Calling Conference - the 8th in the series - which would focus on Education, ICT, Alternative Sources of Energy and Life Sciences.
The prestigious 'India Calling' International Conference 2008 will be held in two cities of Canada from June 14 to 19, 2008. The conference will consist of two three-day events held at Toronto and Vancouver respectively.
Explaining Canada's choice as the venue for this prestigious conference, he said: "Canada and India have a lot of common interests. The country is a home for more than one million people of Indian origin. The country's economy is strong and rising. But bilateral trade and investment between the two are very small, and provides vast opportunity to increase them", he added.
Chaini focussed on the objectives of India Calling 2008 conference: to build an all round strategic business partnership between India and Canada, to focus on education, ICT, to focus on alternate energy such as fuel cells, wind power, wave energy, solar energy, bio fuel, hydro power, and Life Sciences and to Project India and Canada as attractive investment destinations and highlight unlimited business opportunities in the two countries.
Indian Merchants' Chamber secretary Renu Som said the conference would further strengthen ties between both the countries. The seminar was compered by Federation of Madhya Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry assistant secretary Vijendra Puri.
