Collapse of Pak coalition

The report "Nawaz Sharif Ministers all set to quit government," 13/5 may sound alarming as it comes sooner than expected but the collapse of coalition was inevitable because the two most unlikely political groupings with diametrically opposite agendas had coalesced to form the government only a couple of months ago. While Nawaz Sharif's single point agenda was to reinstate dismissed judges and with their help oust Musharraf, Zardari was under obligation to retain Musharraf as the latter had withdrawn criminal cases pending against the Bhuttos and facilitated their return to Pakistan. Musharraf and the Army must be laughing all the way.
