Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor: MP areas to be developed

Under the proposed Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor, a sum of Rs one crore has been sanctioned for development of areas in Madhya Pradesh. An autonomous committee would be formed for this project and Chief Secretary of the State would be the chairman of it. MP Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation (TRIFEC) would be made nodal agency. It is noticeable that under this industrial rail corridor UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra areas would come between Delhi and Mumbai. A meeting in this connection was presided over by Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, where the concerned ministers were also present. Industrial development of Peethampur-Dhar-Mhow, Dewas-Shajapur, Ratlam-Nagda and Neemuch-Nayagaon areas would be taken up under this corridor. Along with this Indore Chota Udaipur-Pratap Nagar, Neemuch, Ratlam, broad gauge Dahod-Indore, Dewas-Maksi railway routes would be developed on priority. With this project, on the one hand the job opportunities would increase, whereas western Madhya Pradesh would get chance to develop. If connectivity is increased with this corridor then the entire state would get its benefit. It may be noted that the 10-year project entails an expenditure of Rs 360 crore. Around Rs 40,000 crore would be spent in the areas of MP under the project. Seeing the possibilities of industrial development and the importance of corridor there should be arrangements accordingly. It is yet another chance for the progress of the State and no effort should be left out.
