New Delhi, May 14: The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by Parliament attack case convict Shaukat Hussain Guru challenging his ten years imprisonment.

"We do not find any reason to interfere with our verdict," a Bench headed by Justice P P Naolekar said.Shaukat had contended that he was convicted by the apex court on August 4, 2005, under sections 123 (concealing conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the offence for which he was never charged.

Shaukat had filed the petition after the apex court had dismissed his review and curative petition against the judgment sentencing him to ten years of imprisonment.

The trial court had awarded death sentence to Shaukat for the December 13, 2001, attack on Parliament which was upheld by the Delhi High Court. The apex court had, however, reduced the sentence to ten years imprisonment under section 123 of the IPC.
