Assistant Sub Inspector of MP Police, Dhanvantari Thakur bagged three bronze medals in three events of power lifting championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Along with this Dhanvantari also bagged bronze medal in overall competition of this championship.
She is posted as ASI in Raisen district. She was connected with 7th Battalion, Bhopal for practice.
Dhanvantari participated in two week's training camp in Delhi prior to participating in the competition of Tashkent.
Later she reached Tashkent on April 29 with Indian team.
She participated in three events of 48kg group of escort, bench and deadlift and bagged bronze medal for each event.
China, Pakistan, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Turkistan, Uzbekistan and Taiwan including 15 countries participated along with India in these sports.
MLA Football tourney from today
The MLA Trophy for mini and junior football players is going to be started on may 15 at Rajendra Nagar play ground by student sports club. In this tournament junior player of the age group of 9-15 and 15-18 will exhibit their talent.
According to chairman of the organisation committee Chetan Singh the players of winner and Runner team will be given cash awards. It is noticeable that the Sports and youth welfare affairs department is running summer camp for junior football players. The student sports club is providing golden opportunity to Junior footballers an to exhibit their talent. Further Chetan Singh told the purpose of MLA Trophy is to raise the level of Football in Bhopal. This year total 8 teams have been given entry. Umashankar Gupta ,the local MLA and Mahesh Joshi , the chairman of MP. Olympic association and Football association have been appointed chief patron.
