"Bhootnath" enchants kids, parents

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, May 13: For the customary Weekend Hungama, a Parents/Children Interactive Session was organized at Campion School where the children put forward their problems and queries to the parents and the parents answered. Then the parents got the chance to put forth their views and asked the children things they always wanted to ask but could not just get down to it.

A wide array of problems were discussed. From the basic ones like not letting the children watch too much of television, not letting them play on their Playstations, too many rules, too much of punctuality and discipline, too much of pressure on them to do well etc. to more serious ones like if chocolates are bad for children then why do the Ads. Say that they are nutritious, why does the Govt. allow such ads. To appear on T.V. also some teenage children wanted to know why they could not surf the internet when lots of their friends had access to it. The parents replied and satisfied their children. Basically, moderation is the call of the day. Children must learn to do these things in moderation, like watching T.V. or playing on the computer because besides spoiling their eyesight and wasting a lot of time it kept them away from outdoor sports, exercise, socializing with friends etc. Children could eat chocolates in moderation provided they brush their teeth after eating or if they are not obese. Internet can be surfed but with guidance as there are many sites which are not meant for children, not at least till they are old enough to know right from wrong, good from bad.

The parents were extremely appreciative about the concept and said that they came to know about certain problems of the children for the first time and will do their best to solve them. The children also realized that some time they crossed certain limits and pledged that they will be more careful and supportive. The session was very well attended with doctors, engineers, lawyers, businessmen and other professionals. Most of the children wanted to become actors, the parents agreed to let them if they studied hard and got a professional degree. Lots of fun and games were organized and sweets and prizes were distributed to all.
