Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresh Pachouri said that Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's recent visits to Bundelkhand region and other tribal areas of the state should not be 'politicised'.
While addressing a public meeting at Vidisha, Pachouri said that following the family tradition and with the objective of keeping in touch with the downtrodden Gandhi conducted his 'Discover India Tour'.
''Earlier, Ms Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi also conducted 'discover India tour' to acquaint themselves with problems of common people,'' he said, adding that hence Rahul's visits should not given the political colour. He said that in the coming Assembly election party would give ticket to the eligible people and party would not succumb to the kinship and other pressures. Besides, tickets would not be provided at the eleventh hour.
''Congress is fully poised for the Assembly election,'' he added.

Bhopal, May 13:
Madhya Pradesh Congress President Suresh Pachouri today denied resentment within the party over appointment of state office bearers and said party functionaries were appointed as per requirements. Pachouri, while addressing a sit-in against anti-people policies of the BJP Government here, said he wanted to provide the party a new structure in the state.
He assured Congressmen that he would uphold the trust reposed in him by the party high command while handing over this responsibility. Calling upon elderly to bless him and young people to support him, Pachouri said it was imperative to work together in order to create an atmosphere against the BJP.
Support was needed from everyone so that new history is created in the state as per the vision of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. Pointing out that Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were party leaders, he said Congressmen should work with this feeling and commitment. Everybody had the right to seek party ticket but should work with full heart for anyone selected by the party.
He denied that questions had been raised on the appointment of Rameshwar Neekhra and others. ''Party functionaries had been appointed taking into account their accountability and dedication and no one has been neglected.
Party workers should perform their duties for forming government following which the party would fulfil its duties as per the aspirations of party workers,'' he said. The Congress leader said the party will organise training camps before assembly elections.
