Arjun working to a plan

Looks like Arjun Singh is not happy with his present status in the government and in the Party. In order to achieve his objective of seeking a superior status in the government and in the Party that he is convinced he deserves by virtue of his seniority, first he took on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who he thought was vulnerable.

That gambit having failed this time by calling the decision making process in the Congress Party into question, he has targeted Sonia Gandhi herself. If he doesn't succeed in undermining either of the two and having a bigger say in the Party affairs, he may even quit the Party dubbing it 'deaf, dumb and unfit" as he did during the Narasimha Rao's time.

Obviously Sonia Gandhi hasn't liked the sling aimed at her and has retaliated swiftly. Arjun is in the process of testing waters. He is not known to take slights coolly or give up easily. Also, he keeps his cards close to his chest and plays them at the moment of his choosing. Watch this man for his next move!
