Workshop of stage decoration, beautification

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, May 12: Summer camp is the new trend in the city during the summer vacation. One third of a month of vacation is already over now. The camps are attended by not only children, but also by others. It looks as if nobody want to waste the days of vacation. Classes on all sorts of subjects like dancing, acting, painting, drawing, skating etc are being held in the camps.

At the Anand Vihar College also summer camp is being held from May 1. Here classes on acting, dancing, and the related subjects like how to bring expression on face, how to modulate your voice, and how to say words of different languages correctly etc are held. Only a few days are left to wind up the camp. The basic aim of the camp is to remove the shyness and stage fever from the camp trainees and face the audience confidently.

Mohan Dwivedi of Doordarshan gave tips on stage decoration and lights on the stage at the first session. At the second session, Dwivedi explained about importance of makeup. He said that without proper stage decoration and lights according to the story situation, the drama would not be a success. The stage decoration should be befitting the story situation so that the artists can act in a normal way. Regarding makeup, he said that it should be according to the age and the role in the drama to make it real.

The Bhopal Today Team reporter met a few persons who had attended the camp.

Surabhi felt that the camp would be very useful to her to make acting a career. Here we are taught the basic theories of acting practically. I have been interested in acting since I was a child. I am fortunate enough to get the tips on acting from a person like Rita Verma. I am confident I can make acting my career. If I get a chance, I will definitely become a good actor', she said.

Pushpa Parihar is a student of Class XII. I am very much interested in acting. I have been attending such workshops. So far, I have learnt several important tips from the professionals. I am sure it would be very useful to me as I want to become an actress.
