Bhopal, May 12: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresch Pachouri today alleged that widespread irregularities in electoral rolls have been done due to the political pressure and an intensive investigation shall be initiated in this regard. Talking to the reporters, Mr Pachouri said that officers not bureaucracy were responsible for this laxity and alleged that the BJP-led state government was responsible for the widespread errors in the electoral rolls.

He said that that Election Commission should ensure all the eligible names in electoral rolls and remove the ineligibles' names. Asking about the Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh's and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh's statement over 'loyalty', he said that now the matter was closed. The agitation would be continued till May 20 and Mr Pachhouri would take part tomorrow. Mr Pachhouri said that after the verdict delivered by state High Court in much-debated corruption involved in dumper purchase case against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan proved that the issue raised by leader of opposition in state Assembly Jamuna Devi hold water.
