The
Supreme Court said that the action against the noted heart
specialist, Venugopal and director of AIIMS is illegal. The
court in its decision issued orders to the Union government
that he should be reinstated. Justice, Tarun Chatterjee and
HS Bedi's bench criticized the Centre's order under which
Venugopal was removed from his post. After this decision of
Supreme Court, it has become clear that in such cases the
leaders can go to any extent to play their own tricks. It
is noticeable that Union Health Minister, Ambumani Ramadoss
and Venugopal were face to face for long. Ramadoss finally
amending the law of AIMS removed Venugopal. Venugopal had
challenged this law filing his petition in Supreme Court that
this law is full of discrimination and it was brought with
intentions to remove him. He pleaded that the main aim of
the amendment in rule was to remove him due to the differences
with Ramadoss. It is noticeable that amending AIIMS law the
retirement age was changed to 65 years. In this way Venugopal
had to vacate his seat. In the entire case, finally the government
has to face music. Disobeying the leaders several times creates
problems for the government. This matter is latest example
of it. Though even after removal of Venugopal there has not
been any major change in the working of the AIIMS. The obstinate
attitude of Ramadoss has created problems for the doctors
and the AIIMS institution. Actually, there is clash of ego
somewhere. Such people have mentality to attract institutions
towards them and to exercise control over them. Ramadoss should
avoid such tendency. The law should not be amended to teach
someone a lesson. The path followed by Ramadoss is not right.
All should take lesson from such matters.
