Bhopal, May 11:
There is a lyric in a Hindi film which goes like this: "Naam Gum Jayega, Chehra Yeh Badal Jayega; Meri Awaz Hi Pehchan Hai. . . " meaning thereby that one's voice is his real identity; it remains intact while names and faces fade away from memories. Indeed these lines are true since it is the voice of a person, which gives him a clue about his personality most. It is the voice through which a person expresses himself and conveys his feelings and thoughts to others. It is power of speech, which paves the path of one's profession, and career also.
With this in view, a workshop was organised at Anand Vihar College here so that students can hone their speech skills. The workshop was marked by expert guidance of Mr Munshi from All India Radio. He taught students the correct pronunciation of words, stress and syllables of language. In the second session FM radio jockey Nirvikar made the students understand the concept of and working of a studio and the way for controlling voice before the mike. Students put up various questions before Nirvikar and he came out with interesting and convincing answers.
Neha Sakalle said that she was taking part in these classes right since the beginning and had learnt many a thing so far. Now she does not feel shy in talking to people freely.
She said that this class was best for personality development. Stage fear goes off completely after attending these classes. In today's session, students got lessons in controlling their voices and correction ways of pronunciation. Neha added that from now onwards she would adhere to the principles learnt by her at the class today.
According to Pooja Bhatia, through today's session she came to know for the first time in her life as to how one should modulate his or her voice and what effects voice modulation creates on the person addressed by him and how the addressed person reacts.
It may be mentioned that summer camps are being organised a number of educational institutions of the state capital. In this series, Anand Vihar College is also organising a summer camp since May 1 which would conclude on May 5. During the summer camps training programmes are being held for children as well as youths. The summer camp is providing an opportunity to do something unique during the summer vacations. Apart from providing entertainment and chance of making new friends, the camp is also empowering them as far as personality development is concerned.
