Bhopal, May 11: Bhopal is famous for its lakes and hills. That is why the place is called 'City of Lakes and Hills'. The Upper Lake is considered as the best in the country. Tourists and others on official visit wonder whether they have come to a hill station. The credit for beautification of Bhopal goes to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and other government institutions. The credit also goes to the art loving citizens of the city.

Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the country. It is the capital of the state. The heritage buildings in the city add to the beauty. The age old buildings constructed during the reign of former rulers-the Nawabs and Begams-are being maintained. These buildings are now in the form of heritage hotels and government offices. A city is known for its special attractive beauty. The MP Tourism Development Corporation and its subsidiary institutions along with other state government departments are always active in maintaining and improving the beauty of the city to attract more tourists.

The main attraction for tourists in the city is places like the Upper Lake, the Boat Club on the banks of Upper Lake, Van Vihar and among heritages, Manav Sangrahalaya, Moti Masjid, Islam Nagar, Fun City, Hanuman Tekri and several naturally beautiful places in and around the city.
