Agencies

New Delhi, May 8: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Centre to explore the possibility of conducting an archaeological survey as directed by the Madras High Court to ascertain whether "Rama Setu" could be declared an ancient monument.

While adjourning the matter for July 22, a Bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishanan said that in the meantime the Centre would also explore the possibility of carrying out the Sethusamudram project through other channels (alignments).
