Farm labour registration drive in MP

Bhopal, May 8: A month-long campaign for the registration of nearly 74 lakh agriculture workers will be carried out in Madhya Pradesh from May 15 to ensure the benefits of Mukhya Mantri Mazdoor Suraksha Yojana.

Under the scheme, treatment assistance, insurance scheme benefits, marriage assistance, scholarship to wards and delivery assistance to women workers are provided in order to improve their living conditions.

Registration of as many as 11.29 lakh workers had been completed since the scheme was launched last year and photo identity cards issued to to 6,59,195 workers so far.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who reviewed the progress of the scheme at a high-level meeting here yesterday, directed to ensure effective implementation of the scheme. Action will be taken against the officers concerned if the targetted achievement was not registered, he added.
