Petro cos losing Rs 450 cr a day  

New Delhi, May 7:
India's import cost of crude oil has touched an all time high of $112 dollars a barrel, widening the losses incurred by state-run petroleum marketing firms to Rs 450 crore a day.
 
After Mahatma, it's Bharti-MTN deal for India, SA 

London, May 7:
Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel's acquisition of MTN in South Africa, if successful, would be the biggest thing to happen to the two countries since Mahatma Gandhi, says international business magazine Economist.
 
Sensex closes lower by 34 points  

Mumbai, May 7:
In the absence of any major trigger, the markets ended almost flat with the benchmark Sensex closing lower by nearly 34 points as funds remained major sellers in line with weakening trend in other Asian markets.
 
Tata Power eyes shipping biz  

Mumbai May 7:
Tata Power plans to foray into shipping. The company will invest $500 million through its Singapore-based special purpose vehicle, TPC Energy Asia, to prepare a fleet of nine vessels to transport coal from Indonesia to its plants located in the western coast of India.
 
Bill Gates plays down prospects of fresh Yahoo bid
