Bhopal, May 7: The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan undertook a surprise visit to remote predominantly tribal villages of Mandla district today. He made spot assessment of the implementation of various schemes there. He also inspected the community health centre there.

This afternoon his helicopter landed at village Patehara in Narayan block at 2.30 pm. He mixed up and interacted with the people there. The people informed him about irregularities in implementation of Employment Guarantee Scheme. The Chief Minister also inspected the fair price shop at village Bhawal. On finding irregularities in the distribution system of the shop the Chief Minister directed to seize all the records. He talked to the villagers about the facilities being provided to them under various schemes.

The Chief Minister, later, proceeded to Narayanganj block headquarters. He inspected the fair price shop and community health centre there. On receiving complaint of bungling in distribution of cheques under Janni Suraksha Yojana, he made an enquiry from the hospital staff in this regard. At the fair price shop he found that kerosene had not been distributed for last three months.

After about half an hour of the surprise inspection by the Chief Minister the district collector and other administrative officers reached there. The Chief Minister asked them to enquire into the complaints received by him during the inspection and to send a report soon.

At Narayanganj a large number of villagers were present at the weekly market held there on Wednesday. The Chief Minister met the people and talked to them affectionately. He announced that Narayanganj would be made a tahasil and the process would begin tomorrow itself.

Shri Chouhan moved around in the weekly market on foot. He enjoyed Jalebi of Gur and tea complete with betel leaf. After staying there for about two and half hours he left for Bhopal.
