Video-recording in courts

Chief justice of India should be complimented for allowing cameras for first time to cover court-proceedings of first ever Lok Adalat in Supreme Court. CJI is justified that allowing videography of regular court-proceedings has some practical problems like sensitivity and uncivilized nature of proceedings at times. But these problems can be easily overcome by allowing an edited version for public-viewing.

Videography of court-proceedings is a must to maintain official record of court-proceedings and for transparency in system. Practical experience is that at times presiding officers forget their unrecorded directions given after the dictated orders, and litigants are badly humiliated and embarrassed on the next hearing for no fault of theirs!
