Pradesh Congress Committee has criticised Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan for keeping 'mum' and not 'intervening' when a delegation of Sheopur district Congress were attacked by workers of Bharatiya Janata Party.
In a press note issued here, Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Rajeev Singh alleged that a delegation led by Janpad president Shakeel Qureshi was attacked in front of Chief Minister who visited Sheopur district on May 2nd.
Singh said that the Janpad president has taken prior time to meet the Chief Minister and while he was informing the Chief Minister about mass corruption which has gripped various welfare projects in the district and problems that people of the district are facing, BJP party workers roughed up Shakeel Qureshi.
The attack was planned and was triggered to disturb communal harmony of the district, Singh alleged. He asked Chief Minister to take necessary action against the teacher Bharat Singh who on the directive of local BJP MLA attacked on senior Congress leader.
`CM responsible for chain snatching incidents'
Chief Minister himself is responsible for the chain snatching incidents that are on rise in the State capital, said Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson J P Dhanopia.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Dhanopia alleged that police has failed to nab the gang members of motorbike riders who are behind the chain snatching incidence in Bhopal. He held Chief Minister responsible behind such attacks by saying that the rise of chain snatching incidence is due to BJP's decision to withdraw of 65 thousand cases against Shiv Sainiks, Bajrang Dal workers and people affiliated to RSS and Bharatiya Janata Party.
