St Michael emerged winner

Bhopal, May 4: The final match of the 3rd Madhavrao Scindia Memorial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament was played between St Michael Cricket Academy and Indira Priyadarshini College (IPC) on Sunday. The tournament was organised under the aegis of Madhav-Jyoti Sports and Cultural Organisation at Bab-e-Ali Stadium. The captain of St Michael Cricket Academy Parvez Ullah won the toss and took batting first. The team scored 194 runs in 20 overs to the loss of 7 wickets.

Salman Beog made century in 46 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and 4 sixes, Raja Ali scored 10 runs in 17 balls, Shan-e-Alam scored only 10 runs, Parvez Ullah scored 47 runs in 26 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Sunny Bhatnagar and Idris Ahmed of IPC team took 2-2 wickets at the cost of 41 runs each in 4 overs, Asand Beog and Munis Ansari bagged 1-1 wicket respectively.

In replay, IPC team did not complete the target and scored 129 runs only in 16.3 overs. Satish Kumar scored 39 runs in 23 balls with the help of 6 boundaries and 1 six, Murtaza Ali scored 38 runs in 21 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. Amran Zaved of St. Michael Cricket Academy bagged 5 wickets to give 20 runs in 3.3 overs, Subur Beg bagged 2 wickets to give 20 runs in 4 overs, Parvez Ullah bagged 1 wicket to give 34 runs and the team won the championship by 65 runs.

Former Minister Mahendra Singh Kalukheda was the chief guest who distributed prizes to the winner team, while Dr Shafkat Mohammad Khan, Onil Verma, Paramjeet Singh Narula provided cash award of Rs 21000 and trophy. An amount of Rs 11000 and trophy was given to the runner up team. Salman Beig was given the trophy for Man of the Match. Shan-e-Alam was given trophy for the Man of the Series and the other prize winners were Murtuja Ali as best batsman, Jeevan Batham as best bowler, Punit Datre as best fielder, Salman Beig as upcoming cricketer.

The programme was presided over by Dr Shafkat Mohammad Khan, Damodar Arya conducted the programme and Shakil Mohammad expressed gratitude to all for the programme concluded successfully.
