Minister writes to Centre

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, May 4: Madhya Pradesh government sought Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Jyotiraditya Scindia's intervention to ensure speedy approval of a scheme for transparency in the state secretariat's functioning through maximum use of IT.

State IT Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya told reporters that he recently wrote to Scindia in this regard. Copies of the missive were released to the press. The scheme was forwarded to the Centre on December 10 last year.

Responding to a question, Vijayvargiya admitted that certain ''practical difficulties'' were causing hurdles in implementation of a state government scheme vis-a-vis computers for government schools as 50 per cent of the 5,000 schools chosen for the preliminary phase did not have power connections!
