Use high heels with precautions

Bhopal, May 2: It is said that your shoes tell everything about you. So you select your footwear very carefully because it compliments your personality. When we talk about foot wears , beauty, style and offcourse high heels comes in our mind. High heels are boon for those who are short statured and they add stars to the personalities of those who are gifted with good height.

Various types of heels are available in the market Pencil heels, Block heels, Platform heels etc. Size of heels ranges from one to five inches and heels between 2 to 2.5 are in demand and mostly purchased by the customer. Heels range from one to four inches.

But before purchasing high heels stop and think twice as they can harm you more than anything else.

" Regular use of high heels increases pressure on feet and ankle as body's line of weight bearing changes due to this ankle can get strained" said Dr Radha Sharma, MS (Orthopediatic).

Due to this strain curvature of spine and body changes and after a certain age person suffers from severe ache of waist and feet. Those who wear pointed heel their ankle joint may weaken permanently and probability of sprain increases while walking, he added.

While giving further information Dr. Radha Sharma said that in some cases these heels proves beneficial. Sometimes person who regularly wear flat foot wear they complained about pain in feet and ankles, in these cases we recommend them to wear small heels in order to change the line of weight bearing. And in case of flat footers even small heels can cause big troubles. Although except these, high heels do not cause Gout or any other disease. He said that a person should wear only soft heels and heel size upto 1.75 inches is safe.

While talking about pregnant ladies Dr Anjali Gupta said that In case of pregnancy, ladies should avoid high heels. "It increases pressure on their feet and chances of their falling while walking increases which is a great risk for the ladies and baby. So, do avoid heels during pregnancy."
