Bhopal, May 2: With a view to traffic reform and smooth traffic the traffic management control system has geared up. Preparation of its survey is going on and it would be completed in next month. The Bhopal Municipal Corporation is working on this project under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renovation Mission.

According to BMC sources, survey work of traffic is being given to a private company in the coming days. This project has been divided in to several phases. In the first phase all the traffic signals would be connected with one another. In the second phase an automatic computerised centre to be built with a view to keep an eye on the traffic system of entire city.

Earlier the project cost was estimated to Rs 60 crore but according to informed sources when the work would begin the cost would hike up to Rs 100 crore. A meeting of the corporation and police officials was held some months back.

The main aim of this project is to maintain mobility of vehicles. Traffic system would be connected in this way that the vehicles running on same road should not stop frequently. Squares and rotaries would be redesigned.

Separate signals to be installed for VIP vehicles, ambulance and fire brigade vehicles. When these vehicles would pass through the roads, they would find empty road.
