BJP Govt fails to keep promises: Cong

Bhopal, May 2: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State failed to keep promises what it made to people before coming to power in December 2003, charged Pradesh Congress Committee Election Campaign Committee chief Ajay Singh on Friday.

While addressing a press conference Ajay alleged that BJP came to power by making promises that it will wipe out bijli-sadak-pani problems faced by the people of the State. But the Government in the last four years not only failed to do so, but gave State incidence of communal tension and weak administration, he alleged.

He narrated about one incidence of Gwalior, when in front of national president Rajnath Singh, several district and mandal presidents raised slogans against some of the ministers who are indulged in mass corruption.

He alleged how badly the progress of commercial capital of the State - Indore has been affected because of communal incidence and cases of loot and theft witnessing an all time high.

Singh took name of several scandals that took place during the BJP's regime in Indore. Pension, petro, road, transfer, Simhastha, rehabilitation of Harsud, master-plan, Navratan Bagh scam and various other scam surfaced only from Indore, he alleged.

He also released figures of crime in various categories that took place between 2003 (just after BJP captured power) and 2007. Murder 835, dacoity-453, kidnapping - 3274, rape- 10362 and 132 incidence of communal clashes which took life of 30 people since BJP came into power.
