Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a close watch would be maintained on distribution of food grains under Annapurna Yojana and everyone associated with its implementation should be extra alert in this regard. Chouhan stated this while launching the Annapurana Yojana in Bhind, Morena and Sheopur districts of Chambal division today. He warned of strict action in case of any dereliction or negligence on the part of concerning officials in implementation of the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that it is the first and foremost responsibility of the government to ensure adequate food grains to the poor. Chouhan dwelt on the well contemplated schemes and programmes being implemented for development of all regions of the state. He said that the development and welfare works carried out during last four and half years have outdone the works done in 15 preceding years.
At Sheopur, the Chief Minister made a token distribution of food grain to 17 poor families. About 30000 families would benefit in the district under the scheme. The Chief Minister announced that post graduation classes of science would be started in the local government college from next academic session. A power sub station would also be set up at Baroda. He also inaugurated a 100-bed hospital constructed at a cost of Rs four crore at the district headquarter.
Member of Parliament Ashok Argal and MLA Durgalal Vijay also spoke on the occasion.
At Bhind, the Chief Minister launched the scheme in the presence of a large number of people. He made various announcements for development of the area and distributed food grain packets to some beneficiaries. He also gave away National Saving Certificates to a few girls under Ladali Laxami Yojana.
Member of Parliament Dr Ramlakhan Singh and local MLA Narendra Singh Kushwah were also present on the occasion.
At Morena, the Chief Minister inaugurated the scheme by distributing food grain packets to eight beneficiaries. Each packet contained 20 kg food grain. He also gave away National Saving Certificates to 26 girls under Ladali Laxami Yojana.
