Bhopal, May 1:
"A hobby is hard work you wouldn't do for a living". A hobby is that activity which is carried on in leisure time. Hobby in the modern sense is recreation. It is a means of recreation and not to earn money. It is a pastime. Hobbies differ from person to person. There are many, as many hobbies as there are men and women are in the world. Tastes differ and so do hobbies. Hobbies are practiced for interest and enjoyment, rather than financial reward. Some one may have stamp collecting as his hobby while another may find pleasure in reading book, painting, collecting coins, photography, swimming, gardening and kite flying. A hobby gives delight and helps in passing the leisure time. In the Middle Ages, falconry was a very popular pastime (what today might be called a hobby) was perhaps the most popular. A hobby on the other hand is an activity, which is carried on entirely for the sake of pleasure, which it gives.
