Governor, CM mourn Ms Deshpande's death

Bhopal, May 1: Governor Dr Balram Jakhar offered his profound condolences on the demise of famous Gandhian, social worker, recipient of Padma Bhushan and nominated member of Rajya Sabha Ms Nirmala Deshpande and has paid heartfelt tributes to her.

In his message, Governor Dr Jakhar has said that Ms Nirmala Deshpande was a staunch follower of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. She had dedicated her entire life for propounding and propagating philosophy and ideals of Gandhiji. Ms Deshpande had rendered unprecedented services for the uplift and welfare of scheduled castes and schedule tribes in her capacity as chairperson of Harijan Sewa Sangh. She had imbibed the Gandhian philosophy of Acharya Vinobaji so much that she had become a symbol of him. The Governor said that the life and dedication of Ms Deshpande would always remain a source of inspiration for the young generation. Governor Dr Jakhar has prayed Almighty to give peace to the departed soul.

Chief Minister

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed deep sorrow at the death of great Gandhian and member of Rajya Sabha Ms Nirmala Deshpande. In his condolence message, Chouhan has said that in Ms Deshpande's death, we have lost a dedicated Gandhian and social worker. Through her inspiring personality, Ms Deshpande had disseminated ideals and principles of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi to a large number of people.

Chouhan has prayed to the Almighty to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved relatives.
