Responsibility of uplifting hockey once again has been given to Madhya Pradesh. MP said to be the world pilgrimage of hockey, now once again would return its glory to this games. The Indian Olympic Association on Monday has removed Indian Hockey Association president, KPS Gill and dissolved the association. For participation in Beijing Olympic after disqualified of Indian team there was pressure on removing Gill. Later in a sting operation the association general secretary, Jyothikumaran was seen taking bribe, this made the situation of increasing pressure. International Hockey Association has also cleared that in this matter it would not adopt any looseness. Association had told that if strict steps are not taken then India would have to lose chance becoming host in 2010 world cup. In the meeting of Indian Olympic Association emergency meeting on Monday the decision of removing Gill was taken and for seeing the work of association a five members committee has been formed. Former Olympian, Aslam Sher Khan has been made its chairman. Ashok Kumar, Ajit Pal Singh, Zafar Iqbal and Dhanraj Pillai have been made its members. Aslam Sher Khan belongs to Madhya Pradesh and Ashok Kumar is the citizen of same state along with this he is son of renowned player hockey wizard, Major Dhyanchand. At present he is state coach. During the 15-year presidentship of Gill the game of hockey lowered from sky to floor. After several decades its prestige was mutilated when Indian hockey thrown out from Beijing Olympic. Jyothikumaran scam played role of smearing its face. Again the hockey games has come into right hands. Madhya Pradesh is recognised for hockey and now its role would be for the uplift of this games. Khan and Ashok Kumar both are experienced players and they know how to find out talents. The talented players of the state did not get chance to show their game for years. Now it is the right time when hockey would earn its image and would get again the lost glory of national games.
