Govt chalk out strategy for `Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan'

Bhopal, April 29: Madhya Pradesh government has directed the state administration to chalk out a strategy for effective implementation of the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan.

Principal Secretary school education M M Upadhyaya visited the Rajya Shiksha Kendra yesterday and prepared a draft issuing instructions in this regard, an official release said.

According to the draft, special action plans would be chalked out for the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Upadhyaya told the officers that purpose of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is not merely achieving its physical and financial targets but ensuring "qualitative" improvement in educational index at every level and phase.

He also made it clear during his two-hour meeting, that present style of function would have to be changed. He also made a draft of assigning responsibilities to different officers.

He said that henceforth only these officers would present details of the budget and physical progress of the abhiyan during the regular review meetings. The officers would have to make their study, experience, expertise and firm grip felt.

Upadhyaya also issued instructions for preparing a proposal to hand over responsibility of studies and research to established and expert institutions of the country.

Services of senior and experienced consultants would also be availed for better implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and coordination with various Agencies.
