An open letter to the Traffic Dept

We may bring to your kind notice that we nearly 600 residents have been living in South Avenue, Gulmohor Colony, E-8, P.O. Trilanga under Shaha Pura Thana since last 10 years. Earlier there was no vegetable market in our area. Vegetable Vendors used to come to our area to sell their vegetables on cycle vans. During the last two years they have occupied some portion of the main road opposite to our South Avenue complex and opened their vegetable shops. In front of our complex 40 ft. road has been leading from Bharat Nagar to Tilaknagar. Recently they have started parking their vehicles and private carriers in front of our complex just adjoining to our boundary wall blocking even the footpath space for walking. As a result our children, ladies and senior citizens of the complex are unable to walk safely on this road. At times we are confronted with the problem when two vehicles come from opposite direction leaving hardly any space to walk. On the top of that vehicle owners often park their vehicle in the middle of the road for shopping. Despite our repeated persuasions and requests they are reluctant to shift the parking of their vehicle. Always they use abusive language sometimes in drunken state making it unbearable for our complex people to stand. At daytime our ladies wait outside the complex to collect their children from school bus but feel uneasy to stand in this atmosphere.

In the evening after office hours this area become so busy and congested that our ladies, children and old/physically challenged residents are unable to cross the road. Security and safety of the complex is also in jeopardy.

Under the above circumstances explained above we would urge the Traffic Department to kindly look into the problem and take appropriate action to mark the space adjoining to our complex as "NO PARKING ZONE". The private carriers and Auto Rickshaws should be asked to shift their vehicles to some other place for parking leaving our approach road to bus stand and other adjoining areas safe for walking and strolling by children, ladies and senior citizens/physically challenged persons.
