Mumbai in big trouble

Agencies

Mumbai, Apr 27: Shaun Pollock also followed Jayasuriya to the Mumbai dug-out as he got castled by medium pacer Sanjay Bangar for 31. Mumbai were reeling at 84/5 after 14 overs.

Sanath Jayasuriya’s poor run in the continued as he also did not last long. He made only 18. Mumbai were still struggling at 65/4 at the end of 12 overs. Shane Pollock was waging a lone battle in the middle with a gusty knock of unbeaten 21. Dwayne Bravo has come to give him company.

Mumbai Indians were in big trouble after losing their third wicket in the form of in-form Robin Uthappa, who tried to cut a Shahid Afridi delivery, got a thick outside edge. Adam Gilchrist completed the formality with a neat catch behind the wicket. Veteran pair of Sanath Jayasuriya and Shane Pollock, the two not out batsmen, have a huge task in front of them.

Mumbai Indians’ woes continued as they lost two quick wickets early in the innings. Wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi was the first two go, followed by rookie Ajinkya Rahane. RP Singh got the wicket of Ronchi while Sanjay Bangar scalped young Rahane. Mumbai were 18/2 after 4 overs.

Deccan Chargers have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Shaun Pollock is leading the Mumbai Indians team in the absence of Harbhajan Singh, who will have to wait till the hearing which is due on Monday. Sachin Tendulkar is not yet fit and he will miss out again thanks to the groin injury.

The Mumbai team have made a couple of changes, one being forced of course. Saurabh Tiwary has to sit out and he makes way for Ajinkya Rahane. Sidharth Chitnis comes in to replace the suspended Harbhajan Singh.

Nuwan Zoysa comes into Deccan Chargers side to replace his compatriot Chaminda Vaas. That`s the only change made in this playing unit.
