Summer classes attract students

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Apr 27: Examinations are almost over in schools. The students have started thinking about their career and future. They are also thinking of utilising the summer vacation in a fruitful way. The good old days are over when the students useed to touch the study books only after 2-3 months of summer vacation. The scenario in the School of Excellence is as if it is not summer vacation at all. The school is in full strength.

Following the CBSE pattern, the government schools have also started summer classes. At the School of Excellence, the students are very much interested in the studies at their new class. Several students were of the opinion that the selection of subjects at this stage will lead them to a better career in future. Some students said that they are approaching seriously the subjects in which they feel weak now. Because they are aware of the difficulties they will face at the time of examination if one or more subjects are weak. Therefore, "attend the difficult problems right now" is their motto.

School principal Rajesh Tiwari commented that the students have awareness and they want to utilise the time fruitfully. 'Like Central Schools, we have also started to run summer classes', he said. The summer classes will be for three hours only - from 8 to 11 in the morning. He also said that at present the students and parents are facing difficulty, as the study books are in short supply. But the teachers are guiding the students in difficult subjects. We have invited guest speakers in subjects like career problem, personality development etc for the benefit of the students. 'Because of such efforts", he said confidently, "we are able to produce first class results in examinations".

What students say

Harsh Jaiswal, a student of School of Excellence said, "I was interested in study from the beginning. I have even stopped going to the houses of my relatives. Instead, I like to attend additional classes like this."

According to Govind Patel, another student of the school, education is the basic infrastructure that will help in setting up of career. "It is not a difficult task to study in summer", he opined. He said that several students waste their summer vacation days and repent later.

"I have to become a businessman. I was always weak in Maths and English. I am getting enough guidance and help from the teachers during the summer classes", said Akash Jain, another student.

Vikas Yadav, a student, thinks that the summer classes will help him considerably. In these classes, we are getting additional knowledge from the teachers.

Rehan Umar Khan is very much impressed by the former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. "I want to become a scientist. Hence, I will spend more and more time in studies".
