Courage opens new horizons

Bhopal, Apr 27: It is the state of the mind that makes a person a success in life. A handicapped person Kailash Gupta from Gwalior has proved that physical constraints can never stand in the path of success of a person who has determined to succeed in life. Shri Viklang Bandhu Seva Sansthan has been set up by Gupta and is engaged in making incense sticks, dhoop, itra, etc which promise to pervade your surroundings by their aroma. Their stall at the Bhopal Haat is spreading its typical fragrance in the area. Gupta with few other handicapped people has made a samiti which makes special incense sticks. They range from3to27 inches and burn for hours at a stretch according to their size.

The special attraction is a 27 inch long stick which burns for upto 72 hours. He started with some 10 people in the beginning and today the number has swollen to 200men and women, majority of them disabled. The samiti is running since seven years. He gets the bark of the Deodar tree from Koham in Kerala and mixes incense or dhoop to make his famous sticks out of it. It mesmerises anyone who inhales its fumes. He has exhibited his products at many hatts and melas in the country. His itra is so mesmerising that the people get back to him for buying more. Mogra, chandan, tulsi, khus, gulab, aloevera, madhuchandan, prabhudarshan, madhuamrit, pawanpujari are some of his famous brands. Besides he also has a collection of small Borosil glassware to carry your favourite itra home and apply at your own sweet will.
