Bhopal, Apr 27:
'Kheloge koodoge, banoge Nawab' seems to the slogan of the modern era unlike olden days when children were advised by their parents and elders to 'study well to get good job and high place in the society. They were warned that if they wasted time in playing, they will never carve out distinguished place for themselves in the society and their life will be spoilt'. The time has changed as sportsmen specially cricketers are minting money. Under these circumstances In this era we can safely advise our children 'go and play, become somebody'.
Now the importance of sports has heightened in the society, perhaps more than anything else. The reflection of modern age is seen in sports these days, particularly in cricket. Whatever be the sport, it has its own importance. But cricket is the favourite sports of all now. Once cricket was the sports of Englishmen. It was called as 'the gentlemen's play'. Wherever the Englishmen expanded their empire, they started playing cricket there. This way, cricket spread to several continents like Australia, Africa and Asia. The British lost their empire. Now they are restricted to the United Kingdom only.
Now playing cricket has become even fashion. Whether in
villages or cities, the cricket boom has spread all over.
The currently playing IPL matches have made people sort of
mad towards cricket. We should not be surprised if the children
and youth wanted to make cricket as their career. In this
regard, the Bhopal Today Team reporters talked with some cricket
coaches and their students to know more about the impact of
IPL matches on the public, particularly the children and youth.
