Bus turns turtle, 22 injured

Bhopal, Apr 27: A speeding bus collided with a narrow bridge near Semri Kalan village under Gunga area today at noon and fell into chasm. Around 22 people received injuries including a 7 month child. Eleven seriously injured passengers were referred to Hamidia hospital.

According to police, the accident took place around 1pm.

Rajshri Travels bus MP-05/A-8320 was plying towards Talen from Bhopal taking passengers. As soon as the bus reached near Semri Kalan village under Gunga police station area its driver lost control over steering and hit the but into a narrow bridge, later it fell into chasm.

A large number of villagers reached the spot after receiving information about incident and took out the injured passengers from bus.

The injured were admitted to government hospital Berasia. A 7 months girl Deepanshil is also included in the injured. Sonabai, Narayan Singh, Archana Nagar, Ramkrishna, Sitabai, Prahlad Singh, Krishna Gopal, Deepanshil, Mamta, Parvat, Usuf, Wasim Bee and Dinesh Mewada were referred from Berasia to Hamidia Hospital Bhopal.

Police registered a case against the driver on the complaint of Prahlad Singh and seized the bus. The accused bus driver fled jumping after the incident.

Municipal Corporation to hire tankers on demand

Bhopal, Apr 27: Municipal Corporation with a view to provide water to the different localities would hire tankers. There are 34 tankers with Municipal Corporation at present which are not sufficient according to population.

The water work department of the Municipal Corporation has invited tenders from private tanker owners in minimum rates. City engineer (liquid), Sunil Shrivastava told that the tankers would be hired only in need. Only rates would be decided at present so that in emergency the tankers could be called immediately. In the outer areas of city where pipelines are not laid down the municipal corporation supplies water through 34 tankers. In summer leakage in pipeline prevails which affects water supply and water could not made available in several areas.
