SZamiruddin:
Please spare God social and municipal duties.Man has two problems:
spiritual and physical. Religion attends to his spiritual
and divine problems, whereas the civil society takes care
of his physical problems. So man should look to God only for
his spiritual problems, where their solutions lie, but man
should not drag God into his self-created, mundane affairs,
for He has blessed us with physical and mental assets with
which to handle them. If there is social injustice, corruption,
violence, lack of health and educational facilities, bad roads
and stinking gutters, do not expect God to undertake social
and municipal duties.
Dr
Suram Singh Verma: Why not? Man from ages has only one
true unseen companion in terms of God. God is a faith of
mankind in something which is only close to the believer.
God is a very nice way of sharing some one's joy and sorrows.
In the era of competition, nepotism, helplessness and lawlessness
etc when survival of ordinary human has become so difficult
and there seems to be no solution to his miseries at any
end, then his only solution is to surrender to GOD and wait
and watch. With his devotion to GOD at least he can blame
God for all ills without any repercussions. Man can put
all the blame of bad things to GOD and can take all the
credit himself or can give to his near and dear ones for
all good things. When we see all around us, the world full
of hatred and non-cooperation, we have no alternative except
to seek God's help to solve our problems.
Kiran Prakash
`Sunny': Man is a social, religious and a hopeful creature.
In many ways he is worshipping God. We should leave everything
on God's desire, but we should not work hard to get our
goal of life, work should be done with desire and curiosity. It
is right thing that you should remind God when you do any
kind of work. When you will do your work yourself, it will
also be with the help of God. So it is said- courage and
diligence lead to success. God's plans are just beyond our
head. Too much blind belief is dangerous. Human nature cannot
be judged. Life is becoming more and more tough as time
passes but the Almighty helps those who help themselves.
Man proposes, God disposes. Anger and anxiety are the worst
curses for man's progress. Uncountable gifts of God are
given to man. Natural sources are so many.
Sushmita Shrivastava:
Yes, because without God's help we can achieve nothing in
life. It's true that our own efforts are essential for achieving
anything in life. God guides and helps us. The divine power
is like an inspiration for us. This power guides us to always
do the right things in life. Whenever we think about doing
anything wrong in life, the God forbids us. We must hear
the voice of God and follow the path of truth and righteousness.
If we ignore God's warnings, then God will also not help
us. When we turn to God, we get a new strength and are filled
with fresh energy and zeal to overcome the difficulties
in our path. God always shows us the right path. We must
follow the path shown by Him. Then we can achieve success
in life.
Pranjal Srivastava:
For upliftment and progress, man has self help as a
precious tool with him. All the great men, scholars, saints,
etc followed the path of self-help. Even God will not come
for our help, to get over our problems, if we do not successfully
complete our work. Without depending upon others, we should
exert ourselves to solve our own problems. We should work
hard to solve our problems by keeping in mind that `God
helps those who help themselves' because work is worship.
So also hard work never goes unrewarded.By helping ourselves
we attain confidence along with self-assurance. It helps
us in building our character also. Problems are likely to
crop up but one should not allow them to overpower oneself.
From the beginning of our childhood, the habit of self-help
should be nourished. We should work for ourselves only then
God would help us in achieving success in life.
Damayanti lala:
In day-to-day life time comes when we feel stuck and helpless
for a way out, that is the moment to look actually for God's
help which comes even before we need and always more than
our needs. So is His graciousness we have to have that faith
and confidence in Him. He would never let us down. He knows
what is good for us and in turn we also must not misuse
His graciousness. Our honesty and devotion will always find
the showers of His abundant grace.
Laxmi Devi:
Man is the greatest gift of God on earth. Indian culture
believes in God. Man carries out every work by having faith
in God. Optimism is the survival energy for man. The basic
reason for seeking God's help is the burden of problems
growing day by day. It is seen that the people are indulging
in various types of anti-social activities. It is not true
that man is totally dependent on God's help to solve his
problems. God helps those who help themselves. It is said
`self-help is the best help' to solve problems. Idle, lazy,
careless persons seek God's help to solve their problems.
KAN Talpasai:
Man should not seek God's help to solve his problems.
Prayer is neither a gambit, nor barter of the ilks of: Lord,
you fulfill my desire in return to what I do for you. `A
prayer made for desire fulfillment is a business proposition.
A true prayer is an unconditional one, sans any desire.
Desire creates a maelstrom in the conscious mind and shakes
the subliminal mind as well. Desire impregnated prayer is
counter productive in achieving the set objective. Prayer
is meant to transcendent the mind. It is meant to lose individual
identity to gain the all inclusive cosmic dimension. The
sway of ego centric individual is limited to his resources
and he is a puppet in the hands of the destiny. But in the
case of an individual engaged in true prayer is the one
who attains freedom from the clutches of the destiny and
he becomes, verily, an operative part of the destiny. True
prayer indeed creates miracles.
HR
Bhavsar: God is always great and powerful in the world.
India is a land of religions. Man hopes for prosperity and
happiness with the help from God. However, man's life is
becoming a burden for himself. Man is totally responsible,
anxieties are making him sick. Customs and religious functions
are becoming expensive. These are the basic reasons for
many problems. Instead of seeking God's help man should
do his work himself with patience and courage. Fortune favours
the brave. A man makes his fate, therefore it is not right
to depend on God. God has provided us hands, head and power
of discrimination for living out our days.
AB Mehta: When
a man takes birth he is bound to have good days and bad.
Life cannot be without problems. Still when the problems
do come, most men are not strong enough to treat them without
getting tense, sad and angry. These natural responses also
come in the way of his applying his mind to quickly find
solutions to his problems. Sooner or later some problems
seem unsolvable or cause so much distress that one feels
lost. It is at this juncture that most men look up to God
to help him out. The simplest form of this is prayer. Even
when we are trying to find a solution to our problems we
get inputs from him. God is like a trusted friend. He already
knows our problem and even without our seeking his help
he conveys through our own mind in the form of thought/feelings/intuition
what mistakes we are committing. He does it not as a favour
but because he loves us. He gives his suggestions or the
course we could follow to solve the problem even if it is
self-created. God always tries to guide us whenever we need
his assistance particularly when we feel helpless. Unfortunately
we do not always listen to his just and timely guidance
and instead get fooled by the desires of our mind and look
for short-term material gain. He does not mind even if we
reject his advice. He continues to remain our friend. A
total belief in God and dedicated love for him can result
in our having mental courage to face the problems that in
any case have to end sometime. God will always help us to
do the right things whether we seek his help or not.
VC
Nilosey: Seeking God's help to solve your problems!
Well, every individual, young or old, man or woman, rich
or poor must first make his/her own effort to overcome problems
of serious nature. If you have faith in the Almighty and
regard God as your saviour, you need not seek help, it will
automatically come to you. It all depends on the situation
you are in. If all earthly efforts fail to save you from
crisis situations, you are free to pray God to come to your
rescue. To quote one instance, if your near and dear is
sick and doctors too have lost hope of saving him, they
also advice `pray God'. It is all a matter of faith, you
have to simply pray God, have faith in God all the time.
At last God helps those who help themselves.
Vini
Ponnachan: God is the god of creation. He creates and
recreates life on earth. Creation is cosmos out of chaos
(order out of disorder). God wants us to be co-workers with
Him in the promotion of life at all levels. He constantly
challenges us to choose life over against the forces of
evil, sin and death in this world. Man should seek God's
help to solve his own problems because we God we are heroes,
without God we are nothing. Everything is not possible for
man but at the same time nothing is impossible for God.
We should seek God for everything because it is rightly
said `Man proposes and God disposes. We should praise God
in happy moments, seek God in tough moments, worship Him
in quiet moments, trust Him in painful moments and thank
Him every moment. Don't be incredible people of earth but
be credible by seeking God's help to solve your problems.
Dr Balak Ram
Kashyap: Surely he should seek His help. The human society
today is afflicted with numerous problems. Really speaking
these problems have multiplied over the years as he tried
to solve them of his own. Whether it is impending environmental
disaster , much prevailing violence, intolerance, jealousy
or even food scarcity , ever soaring prices or a variety
of physical and mental ailments most of them are amenable
to this spiritual treatment of seeking help from God almighty. We
are soul or spirit and so is God. Therefore we have an inalienable
relation with God. Like God,our supreme father, we are immortal. But
our body which is composed of 5 elements - earth, water, air, fire
and ether- is perishable. And due to ignorance we are identifying
ourselves with the perishable body which is the principal
cause of most of our problems. Thus foregetting our true
relationship with the almighty God we are facing all sorts
of problems and difficulties. It is therefore essential
that we establish rapport with God through the benediction
of a bonafide spiritual teacher or Satguru like His Holiness
Nirankari Baba.Thereafter a man is in direct communion with
God. God is the creator, sustainer and annihilator of this
universe . He is imperishable , all pervasive and all powerful.
He is embodiment of love, peace and bliss. He loves His entire
creation, particularly the humans whom He created in His
own image. Therefore, to solve our problems howsoever insurmountable,
let us turn to Him. Let us be devotees first. Let us know
Him and then pray to Him. For it is said whatever ye asketh
in prayer; believing ye shall receive.God is our supreme
father, the over lord. One who loves Him cannot hate His
creation much less the human beings. He is pleased when
we love His children (all men ,women and children on the
globe), do not discriminate between them on the basis of
religion, caste, sex or nationality. When we do not hate
any body even if his food, dress or culture is different
from ours or he speaks a language other than ours, He is
pleased. If we learn to love God and His creation there
will be love, peace, tolerance and a sense of brotherhood
all around. We will be true devotees then. Granting our
prayers God will help solve our problems. The earth will
become a better place to live.
Karan Gurung:
The thing that strikes me most about this question is
the question itself. It implies the presence of a divine
being, who we have assumed as God who will provide divine
justice to all. It is befuddling how this theory has existed
unchallenged and uncontested. Man seeking God is not a new
phenomenon. Man has always taken refuge in God whenever
confronted with a problem. All that can be said is that
God as the counselor has been dismal. If he were working
under me, I would have fired him without ado. When faced
with problems we demolished Babri Masjid, rioted Gujarat
and have wreaked havoc incessantly because that's what God
insisted. However, these catastrophes have not dissuaded
man from his supreme counselor. The kind of crimes that
man has dedicated to God is heinous. Immorality is often
taught in the name of morality. I am wondering who do we
hold responsible, after all God is our very own creation.
Many will argue that I am running at a tangent but regrettably,
our lives have taken the same course. We have drifted way
from the truth. We have misinterpreted and manipulated God
for our own stake and differentiated between a destitute
and a man. If history is anything to go by, we can only
repeat history in God's harborage. I think we all agree
that man is his best judge. His problems are his own and
therefore there cannot be a better guide than he himself.
Neha
Gupta: God made human beings. We can also say, "humans
are a part of God. Yes man can feel the existence of God
in his heart or soul. As we know God is almighty and He
is the creator of the earth. Earth moves in the direction
of God. Yes we say, we are the children of God. When we
say like this, how can be a man so helpless in difficult
situations, because he has worth to tackle this problem.
And every problem has its own solution. I think man should
not cry in negative circumstances because God is always
with him whenever negative or positive situations arise.
I think he does not know about himself, because his soul
is God and God is not a helpless person. So whatever situation
man should think reasonably and then he will overcome his
difficult situation. I also want to say one thing, God is
the happiest one because He wants to see his creation become
"WINNERS".
RJ Khurana: God
helps only those who help themselves. God doesn't come to
the help of those who are lazy and lethargic and don't want
to do anything and except pray to God to help them in everything.
If someone is suffering from a disease but does not go to
a doctor and only goes on praying to God for curing him
of his illness, God will never come to his help. He has
to visit a good doctor and get the appropriate treatment.
Prayer will give him the psychological boost to get well
quickly. If someone wants to win an Olympic medal, first
he has to check that he has the potential and the will.
Then he has to work hard, practise daily, engage a good
coach to help him train, examine minutely the lifestyles
of those who have won medals in that event in the past and
rectify his shortcoming. Prayer to God will steel his resolve
to win the race. This holds good even in solving day today
problems. God is the ultimate weapon to grant success but
only if you have left no stone unturned to prepare for it.
Syed
Zia Ul Hasan Naqvi: Before we broach the topic we should
keep in mind that we are theists who firmly believe from
time immemorial in the existence of God and we are sure
he is the creator and overseer of this world. Being omnipresent,
omnipotent, omniscient and above all benevolent, God is
supreme by all means and nothing can happen without his
will, he created and sustains everything so it is patently
obvious that everything in this world is governed by Almighty
God. In case of any problem in life we should try our level
best to solve that problem and at the same time we should
seek God's help by praying. It is true our efforts have
importance in solving our problems but there are many instances
when in spite of our best efforts and all right steps we
fail to solve our problems. On the contrary in all adverse
conditions and without any efforts on our part we succeed
in solving our problems.
Sarad Damodaran:
Yes, definitely. There is a universal power in the world
ie God and people call Him by different names. Without the
blessings of God we cannot achieve our desired goals. Like
Alma we cannot see the the God Almighty but the Lord is
with us in every moment of life. If we pray to the Lord
with an open heart He will definitely find out a way for
us from our troubles. To help poor and needy people at the
time of their need is a real service to God. Service to
God is considered as an end in itself and it gives great
relief to the mind thereby reducing tension. When a man
is grief-stricken a lump forms in the neck but after praying
to God the lump gets removed from the neck and man feels
relieved. Realisation of true relationship with God is the
goal which we achieve. Some people do not work because they
think the God will help them out. This is a bad mentality.
When we work hard, God almighty rewards us in various ways.
Ramesh:
God created man for a purpose. We of ourselves cannot know
that purpose unless He tells us. God is invisible and spirit
whereas we are made of flesh and mortal. The Almighty did
tell mankind about how it was created and for what purpose.
But He has created people of different regions speaking
different languages, and of colours. Variety is His nature.
As per the Holy Bible, the real purpose of man is to be
born into the kingdom of God in spirit form. And we need
not worry as to how the Almighty is going to achieve that
goal. Now, when God created Adam and Eve he had plans that
they would seek the holy spirit and be born of Him but the
wily Satan, whom they had to overcome, did succeed in deceiving
them, from achieving the holy spirit. Even though there
was a disappointment for the Almighty but God has various
ways to achieve His purpose. For our life on earth God made
laws, they are also invisible for when we obey them we get
good results but when we wantonly break them we are punished.
Still if we do not learn from their bad effects it becomes
a habit and we keep on suffering because penalty of breaking
law whether knowingly or unknowingly is always there- say
in the form of fear or sickness or failures in life. God
has given us 10 commandments and it is important to understand
how in principle they are to be applied to different situations
in life to solve our problems. As an example you may be
working in a govt/reputed private organization. It gives
you weekly off and other holidays, it gives you good pay
also. But what about the servant maid, or the guard in your
complex who sought job at any condition/pay and even after
a lapse of time (years) he is not entitled to take any weekly
off or his salary raised to a reasonable level. Only when
we search God's books will we come across the fourth commandment
which says `Six days you shall labour and do all your work
but the seventh day you shall rest, even your servant, or
maid shall rest. Let it be any day of the seven, the principle
is `rest for any person employed and even ox or horse. Today
the world is battling inflation and other problems. The
problems are overwhelming us without proper solutions. We
are searching for solutions all by ourselves. Do we know
that the God/s we visit in temples could also help us out?
God says cast your cares upon me. Let me fight your battles.
We are going on increasing our defence budget at the cost
of other areas which merit attention. Why? Because we don't
know that there is a God who can help us fight not only
Pakistan but also America! Students right from birth are
being burdened with difficult topics to study, many even
commit suicide because they fear life. Only when we seek
God's help will we know that the systems of this world could
also be in error. Giving of loans is another wrong concept
of the society. It is like lottery which ultimately consumes
away lives.
Dr Visal A Khan:
'The God of the Theologians is simply an imaginary power,
our chief aim is to deliver humanity of this nightmare and
to teach man virtue for its own sake and to walk in life
relying on himself instead of leaning on a theological crutch,
that for countless ages was the direct cause of nearly all
human misery. The question for seeking God's help to solve
problems, I would like to mention here, one of the incidents
of old history of Prophet Mohammad (The messanger of God).
One of his friends happened to meet him after performing
a long journey from Damascus to Mecca, Prophet Mohammed
was very happy to meet him and asked him "How he performed
his long journey?" he replied that he used his horse and
he was a good rider. Immediately Prophet questioned him
where is the horse now? Friend told him he left him out
of door. Prophet again questioned him "Have you tied horse
with rope of chain? He said "No, I left him free since I
seek God's help who always solved his problems. And he has
a strong belief in God. Prophet immediately warned him and
ordered him to turn back and to tie up the horse first instantly
without loss of time and made him clear that God helps them
who help themselves. There is only one Truth, one God, who
created all of us. It can only be hoped that all religious
paths lead us back to the same, true Creator and man seek
God's help in imagination. That imaginary power come into
immediate play in action if man using all his physical efforts
to solve his problems himself.
RK
Kutty: There is no other go for man than seeking God's
help to solve his problems. It is a misconstrued perception
by those who do not accept the existence of God that everything
happens in this world according to nature's will. In fact,
the very genesis of the so called big bang theory behind
the creation of every seen things in this world was borne
out of the dejection by anti-God faction in support of their
standpoint. But, so many amongst them have now started believing
that surely there must be a hand behind the big bang. In
his novel, Brothers Karamazov, Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky
speaks thus through one of the characters: - Gentleman...look
around you at the gifts of God, the clear sky, the pure
air, the tender grass, the birds; nature is beautiful and
sinless, and we, only we, are Godless and foolish. And we
don't understand that life is a paradise, for we have only
to understand that and it will at once be fulfilled in all
its beauty; we shall embrace each other and weep... Another
Russian, Leo Tolstoy, searching for the meaning of life,
concluded: - Love is life. All, everything that I understand,
I understand only because I love. Everything is, everything
exists, only because I love. Everything is united by it
alone. Love is God. Loveless-ness is the root cause of all
problems that we face in this world today. That means God
cannot intervene when man and man cannot bond each other
in love. Jesus Christ had said no love is greater than the
love of the one laying down his own life for his friends.
But the irony of this world is that we have endless list
of martyrs who had laid down their lives for no fault of
theirs. Their only fault was that they had not considered
their life as nothing before the greater cause for which
they fought a relentless battle. Before Martin Luther was
assassinated on 4th April 1969 , in his infamous speech
before a crowd of black Americans he said that "I had reached
on top of that mountain from where I saw the Promised Land.
Although I cannot reach there without you, but I have no
fear that none can take that glorious promise of God away
from me. Even if I die the next moment, I am sure of reaching
there. And that is the hope eternal. Only the God fearing
ones can speak that way. When Abraham Lincoln's mortal remains
were being taken out in procession, a black American woman,
rising up her son, cried aloud saying ˜looks my son for
a last time the one who redeemed us from years of bondage.
What the world desperately needs is an abject surrender
before the Almighty God, the sooner the better, as every
forewarnings of Christ Jesus about the symptoms that would
precede the glorious arrival of the Son of Man on the clouds
are being fulfilled in letter and spirit, day in and day
out. Surely, it is comparable to a labor pain and deliverance
comes for Go's people through the rapture, an inglorious
moment the faithful are anxiously waiting for.
