Memories etched on life's notebook

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Apr 24: Nobody knows what would happen the next moment, forget about tomorrow. Life is most unpredictable. We could not forget some events whether sad or happy. It is said that people learn a lot through experiences. If we do write down truly about the events that happened in our life, reading again later may help us in future positively.

Writing of diary is a good habit to express our views on the events happening around us. We have a large number of writers and educationists who had shown the society a better way to lead. If we go through their life history, it will be known that most of them nurtured the habit of writing diaries. The diary reflects one's own image. Sometimes, people do write about their private life but later on they decide to remove the pages thinking it may tarnish their image. In fact, we think that the events that happen every day are truthfully written in the diary.

Writing of diary reflects the events of not only one's own life and what you think of them, but also relates to the events in the society. Later on, the diary helps us to bring improvement in our own thinking and the society also. If the writing reflects the events in its true form, it may become an important historical record later on. Only because of this, several writers give permission to publish their diary after their death. To learn more about writing of diaries, The Bhopal Today Team interacted with some renowned persons.

Ramesh Chandra Shah, Thinker said dairy is a simple and easy medium of conservation with one self. Often the dairy brings out important things which, sometimes, we cannot imagine to have happened. Writing of story, essays, poetry are different. Diary reflects one's private life which could be read easily by others. He said that if written informally, diary writing is interesting.

Vijay Bahadur Singh, Litterateur said that he had started to write diary first and then turned to literary works. 'It was after I read about Jainendra Kumar Saheb that I got myself interested in writing diaries. Creative and daily practice is part of writing diary. But one's own intellectual clash with the views of the society and its effect is also part of diary writing', he said.

I think the writers could get a view of their own only after started writing diary. Writing of essays or stories is also helps one to improve oneself. A good writing reflects one's own thoughts, he added.

Batuk Chaturvedi, writer, opined that writing of diary is a strong medium to reflect one's own views. 'If you write whatever you can see in your mental mirror, it can be more effective, forceful and clear than a picture'. Therefore, the role of diary is most important when writing history. Diary reflects the country, time and age, he said.

Om Prakash Mehra, Story Writer, think that if diary reflects the events truly, it would later become an important historical record. The diary may reflect one's own good and sad moments, love affair, achievements etc. Every important event in life may be written in the diary. The readers will get a clear picture of how the diary writer started his life and how it ended and what sort of happy and sad moments he had to face, he added.
