Demo against Kolar water crises

Bhopal, Apr 24: Congressmen of Kolar Road under the leadership of Rahul Singh Rathore on Thursday staged massive demonstration against prevailing water crisis in the entire area. A signature campaign was also carried out on the occasion. Indulging in Gandhigiri, the demonstrators presented water pouch and rose to the passersby and urged them to pray to God for water. They have also requested them to give the water pouch and rose to any BJP leader they meet on their way so that as to embarrass them.

Rathore said that it was ironical that the Kolar pipe line which quenches the thirst of the denizens of the State Capital passes through this road and people of this area are going without water.

The demonstrators have urged the authorities to provide water tanker on a subsidised rate of Rs 75 to the people of Kolar area in spite of Rs 150 and added that the Kolar Municipal authorities should convene a meeting of the Municipal Council to get such a proposal passed. Later they handed a memorandum addressed to the CMO to the officiating Magistrate BN Singh.

Later a delegation met Corporation Chairperson Munni Devi who promised to look into the demand for water tankers for Rs 75.

Those present on the occasion include Yogesh Tiwari, Ram Sharan Singh Rana,Bhairon Singh Yadav, Bhim Malviya and several others. The demand was supported by corporators Annu Sharma, Sangeeta Gurjar, Rama Malviya, Gayatri Sharma, Manjeet Marad, Rajesh Meena and Bhairon Singh Yadav.
