Demand
of establishment of High Court bench in Bhopal is pending
for several years. The advocates have launched a drive over
this issue but there is no result yet. Capital and adjoining
area people face problems due to absence of bench here. Whenever
High Court related work comes ahead the advocates have to
go Jabalpur or Gwalior. Now Centre has assured to do so. Union
Law Minister, Hansraj Bhardwaj said in Rajya Sabha that Union
government is ready to establish High Court bench at Bhopal
provided that the state government should send proposal in
this connection to centre. Bharadwaj during question hour
answering the complimentary question raised by senior MP,
Sushma Swaraj, said that for the establishment of High Court
bench in any state the state government and governor's recommendation
is compulsory. At around Rs 200-300 crore is spent in establishing
high court bench and it becomes responsibility of the state
to provide basic facilities. Swaraj said that the state government
if sends its recommendation then whether the high court bench
would be established in the state. Bharadwaj said that it
is sure that the high court bench would be established in
the state. The attitude of union government is commendable
in this is connection. It is good sign that the union government
has given its consent to establish high court bench in Bhopal,
Madhya Pradesh. Now it is the turn of state government. The
advocates have launched drive in this connection for years
and hopes of the people seems to be fulfilled. The state government
should take initiative in this connection. It should send
proposal soon to central government.
