Bribery in sports worrisome: Bribers did not spare even sports

It seems odd to hear about bribe in sports, but it has proved to be true. The bribe taking people do not bother about the prestige of India. A private news channel has shown Indian Hockey Federation general secretary, Jyotikumaran taking bribe from a player for his selection in the national team. The news channel has exposed the deal through "Operation Chuk De". The shannel has claimed that Jyotikumaran has assured its sting operation team for selection of a senior Indian player of hockey in Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament in next month and demanded Rs 5 lakh bribe against this work. Jyotikumaran was given Rs 2 lakh on April 10 and 11 in a five star hotel and assurance was given to pay his man the remaining Rs 3 lakh. Jyotikumaran after receiving the amount told the sting team that the name of player has been sent earlier for the final list to participate in Azlan Shah hockey cup. Though, Jyotikumaran has tendered his resignation, but after this operation several questions are raising about the Indian sports. Sports have met deterioration due to the entry of sportsmen in the team, taking bribe. Several matters came into lighty in the cricket in context of gambling and match fixing. Domination in the sports is great concern and it should be think seriously. Even tennis and badminton like sports have also been in disputes due to some reasons. Recently, Indian Hockey team could not qualify for Beijing Olympic games. There might be such weaknesses otherwise India was leader of hockey in the world. Questions had been raising about corruption in sports. But it seems that we did not take lesson yet. Our performance had not been best even in Asian and Olympic sports. We never considered seriously about the process and management during finding out the reason behind defeat. Such tendency should be checked otherwise Indian sports would face more deteriorated condition. There is need to adopt honest efforts proving ourselves in the world.
