Chief
Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given directives to the
concerned departments for proper transportation and storage
of wheat crop. The CM emphasised that it is necessary to procure
maximum quantity of wheat on support price for ensuring success
of Annapurna yojna. Under this scheme wheat is being supplied
at the rate of Rs 3 per kg to poor families from fair price
shops. The CM is concerned over facilities to farmers at mandis.
A warning has been sent to the traders if they buy wheat at
lesser rates than as prescribed by the government of Rs 1100
per quintal including Rs 1000 support price and Rs 100 bonus.
The CM was addressing Commissioners, Collectors and concerning
officials through video conferencing. Instructions were also
issued for ensuring proper arrangements for farmers at the
wheat procurement centres including rest and drinking water.
The CM knows the ground situation and his instructions need
to be taken in the right spirit. Every government official
should be honest in his duties, only then the benefits as
desired by the government would reach the needy and the downtrodden
sections of the society. The farmers problems could be understood
only by going amidst them. It should be also watched that
the traders are not buying wheat for hoarding purpose. Looking
to the ever increasing prices of essential commodities, there
is also need to act against hoarders. The CM has also asked
the officials to ensure necessary arrangements of employment
and drinking water in drought affected areas and expedite
construction works of roads, power and irrigation projects
and have them completed before onset of monsoon.
