Bhopal, Apr 22: 108 couples have become husband and wife at the 28th mass marriage function organised by the Pal Society. The rituals like going around sacred fire for seven times in front of the important persons of the society was completed before they were declared as husband and wife. The boys and girls had come from far off places of the state. All of them found to be happy and the girls were shy. The mass marriage ceremony was organised at the Dussehra Ground at Bittan Market. National president of Pal Society, Shaitan Singh Pal informed that the function was free and arrangements were made for the stay of those who had come from outside the state capital. During the 'Barat' the bridegroom will travel on a camel while specially decorated 'Raths' have been arranged for the brides. The free programme was organised under the Chief Minister's special 'Kanyadan plan'. Some of the brides and grooms talked to the Bhopal Today Team reporter -

Shying, Rachna Pandya was happy as she is getting married to Hakim Singh of Panama. Her parents were also with her.

Raj Bai belongs to Tila Bujurg of Sagar District. She is getting married to Santosh Pal. Santosh seems to be happy by getting Raj Bai as his wife. 'We are getting married at this function. We are thankful to our parents who brought up them. Now it is our turn to serve our parents' they said.

Dashrath Pal's bride is Rekha of Vidisha. We belong to the same caste. The marriage was arranged by our parents. 'I hope, I'll prove to be a good partner to Rekha', he said with a smile.
